MB School Song
“Our Happy Childhood Days in Monmouth Beach” …
The Monmouth Beach School anthem conjures up happy memories for a lot of alumni. The school on Griffin Street first opened its doors in October 1909. The school song was composed by the Class of 1952, which had 11 students.
Legendary borough school teacher Eleanor Van Note (who taught in town for nearly 50 years) put the words to music for the children. The kids’ 8th grade teacher was Frank Bannon, who also served as school principal.

Oh, sing, Monmouth Beach, with happy accord,
Let loud your voices ring in song of joy.
Proclaim ye the glory of years of reward,
And lasting friendship of each girl and boy.
Sing, sing, my classmates, sing! Loud may the glad chorus ring.
That tells in proud measure How fondly we treasure
Our happy childhood days in Monmouth Beach!
