Church of the Precious Blood Images …
The Church of the Precious Blood, the borough’s only Roman Catholic house of worship, is located on Riverdale Avenue at the foot of Beach Road. Dedicated in June 1891, John Burke of Asbury Park was the builder. The church added a rectory in 1952 and a large parish center was opened in 1961. I have fulfilled all of my sacraments in this church. Here are some images through time of near 135-year-old borough landmark:

“Catechetical Center” at Precious Blood Church, November 1961. Built at cost of $200,000, it included a 500-seat auditorium-gymnasium, full kitchen, and four classrooms. The board of education were building tenants for 12 years until a new school opened in 1974.
