MB Cultural Center: Members Wanted
The Monmouth Beach Cultural Center is now conducting its 2019-20 membership drive. The cost for a 1-year membership is $25 for a person and $40 for a family.
Funds will go toward the many activities the center hosts and for upkeep on the 124-year-old facility, which is the borough’s oldest public building. The MBCC is open every Wednesday to Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm and all visitors are welcome.
The spot that many call the “heartbeat of the town,” has been saved from oblivion more than a few times. The old U.S. Life-Saving station along the borough’s coast has come back from fires, floods, storms, bureaucracy and years of neglect. Exceptional teamwork has been the building’s real savior.
Since first opening its doors in May 2000, the MBCC has hosted hundreds of community events, art shows, cultural exhibits and musical concerts. The building is also available for rental — it’s a great location for private parties. The center is also continuing its ongoing art exhibits.
For more information about the MBCC, call 732-229-4527 or stop by. Membership checks can also be mailed to MBCC, 128 Ocean Avenue, Monmouth Beach, NJ 07750. The center also has a Facebook page. The MBCC Director is Lois Geyer.
