I love the piece and the photos. Note the 1952 photo has a 1956 Ford and D some early 60s cars in the foreground. Plymouth’s I think.

Wonderful. A real blast from the past.

Any pictures of The Quay? It was a bar located between Sea Bright and Highland’s bridges. It used to have St. Bernard dogs roaming around and the singer Melanie used to play and sing there.

    Great photos!

I have some from a family stash. If I remember, I will send them on, but to whom should I send them? My great grandfather was Ebenezer Nesbitt — he apparently owned the big hardware store in SB and set up indoor plumbing in much of the area in the early 1900s.

My grandfather was Wayne Cadwallader, who owned the pharmacy in SB for some years. And my father was John Cadwallader, a well-known builder and cabinet-maker in the area until the 1990s or so.

My grandmother was Ivah Nesbitt Cadwallader Mowery (daughter of Ebenezer); she was on the Rumson school board, taught piano at home, and played the organ for the SB Methodist Church for many years.

    Great pictures lots of memories.

My grandparents were Eva and Emil Antkiw. They owned Sea Foam Beach and the stand on the beach and the public beach. I spent my summers working in the food stand and life-guarding on the small beach they had. Where Donavan’s is now.

I can’t thank you enough for all the time and effort you have spent in posting this collection. I lived in Sea Bright from infancy until I went into the service and again when I returned four years later and went to Monmouth College.

    bright

Best collection of historic and present pictures of Sea Bright. Some I recognize from other sources and some for first time. Great job. Thanks for posting.
